Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is both a dynamically aerobic and meditative practice. It was primarily introduced to practitioners in the West by the late SHRI K. PATTABHI JOIS, a dedicated yogi and Sanskrit scholar. As taught by Jois, Ashtanga is from of Hatha Yoga that focuses on asana (posture), pranayama ( breath control) and vinyasa ( the linking of postures by breath and movement). It focuses on ujjayi breathing which induces both the elimination of toxins and the purification of the body. It has the capacity to de-stress and reshape the body and to keep our circulatory system fresh with oxygenated blood.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga has also been described as “ mind medicine” since it allows us to attain deep levels of mental peace and tranquility.

I was born in Asciano in 1959. Since I was a little boy I've had a great interest in drawing and painting: for this reason I decided to attend the Art Institute in Siena from which I graduated in 1978.
The painting technique that I love the most is Oil Painting, I find the consistency and color of the paint soft and beautiful; my favourite subjects are portraits, human figures and our amazing Tuscan landscape. Although I love them all, my own works are realised using the technique of Realism.
At the moment I'm teaching in Asciano, I'm happy to share my passion with my students for I know they will develop their own style and technique.
